A dolly is a cart on a rails and is used to make nice and fluent camera moves, like tracking shots.

Oculus Film utilises the Indie Dolly in all kinds of situations and for various scopes: either in the studio or on location; to make fast or slow moving shots. The reason for this is because the Indie Dolly is very easy to set up. On a flat floor you will have it set up within 15 minutes. On location the ground usually isn't flat, so it will take a bit longer because you need to level the track. Depending on the situation it will take you between 20 and 30 minutes.

Knowing that it is quite hard to find a renting place for a good portable dolly, Oculus Film has decided to rent their dolly out. The rental package consists of the Indie Dolly, ~ 4 meter of straight track and wooden wedges to level the track. A tripod is needed for the Indie Dolly to funcion. If you don't have your own tripod, you can optionally also rent a Vinten Vision 3 tripod together with the dolly.
